Providence New Year’s Eve Celebration and Illuminate PVD Fireworks Display

As 2025 comes to a close and we reflect on the importance of community connection, Providence will host the 3rd Annual New Year’s Eve Celebration and Illuminate PVD: Fireworks Display, a free, all-ages-friendly offering featuring music, food, and fireworks.


Event Line-Up
  • 5:00 pm Come together for a We Love PVD Community Gathering: A moment of healing and renewal #ProvidenceStrong
  • 5:30 pm Starts at Sunset WaterFire bridge lighting
  • 6:00 pm Hush Crew KPop dance performance
  • 7:00 pm Salsa takeover on the main stage by Cultura Dance Arts
  • 8:00 pm NYE Parade to the countdown
  • 8:30 pm Illuminate PVD Fireworks show


Hosted by the Providence Tourism Council, Mayor Brett P. Smiley and the City of Providence, this event will take place on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at 195 District Park with the Illuminate PVD Fireworks display at 8:30 p.m. sharp.


All evening, enjoy a DJ and pop-up dance performances on the mainstage, local food trucks and a heated beverage garden with live music from Kara McKee and Beer, Wine, and Spirits from The Guild and Rhodium.


Explore the illuminated playground featuring glowing games, swings, and free activities, including face-painting and balloon twisting.


Activities throughout the park will keep you entertained until the fireworks countdown, including a 360° photo booth, roaming performers, PVD Poetry, an enchanted forest with NYE wishing trees, inflatable sculptures and photo displays.


Official programming wraps up at 9:00 p.m., giving visitors plenty of time to continue celebrating at Providence’s many downtown restaurants, bars, clubs, and hotels.


This annual event has quickly become one of the city’s most anticipated year-end traditions - bringing residents and visitors together for a celebration of light, culture, creativity, and community to mark the start of the new year.

  • Is this event free? Do I need to register?

    Yes! This is a free, public event. No tickets are required.

  • Where can I park?

    Metered Spaces - Holiday Parking

    Mayor Brett Smiley and the City of Providence are offering free parking for holiday shopping this year in commercial districts to support Providence’s small businesses. Enjoy 2 hours of free parking from November 29 through January 1st at metered spaces in Downtown Providence, bounded by Sabin Street, Memorial Boulevard, Dyer Street, Clifford Street, and Dave Gavitt Way. Info on additional holiday parking zones throughout College Hill, Federal Hill, the Jewelry District, near the State House & Train Station, and more can be found here.     If you can’t find a metered space, there are many private parking lots and garages and parking lots to park in and around Downtown on Clifford, Dorrance, Washington, Westminster and Snow Streets. Some parking lots and garages are listed below.

  • Is this event kid-friendly?

    Yes, the event is designed to be fun for all ages. There will be free activities geared to kids and teens incliding an after dark playground, facepainting, balloon twisting, 360 photobooth, typewriter poetry and more.

  • Are there restrooms at the event?

    Yes, there will be portajohns and handwashing stations on site.

  • An outdoor event in the winter? Will I be warm enough?

    There will be heated tent experiences throughout the event footprint to pop into and warm up. We recommend bundling up in layers. Especially for children snowsuits and boots are helpful and will make being at the event fun for multiple hours.

  • Will there be food and drink served at the event?

    Yes, there will be a dedicated beer, wine, and spirits garden serving drinks from The Guild and Rhodium, and these food trucks:
